MADAMA
Mobile Agent-based Distributed Architecture for Multimedia Applications

MADAMA is the result of the DEIS-LIA collaboration with the Department of Computer Engineering of the Federico II University of Naples, within the framework of the MOSAICO project (Design Methodologies and Tools of High Performance Systems for Distributed Applications), funded by the Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca Scientifica e Tecnologica (MURST).

MADAMA puts together the work we have accomplished in the area of:

CORBA-based Distributed Multimedia Applications (DiVA-CORBA)
Mobile Agent Programming Environments (SOMA)

MADAMA compliance with CORBA permits a high-level of accessibility, decentralization and interoperability with other components.
Mobile agents permit to distribute the service intelligence and control into the network itself to provide adaptive and user-tailored multimedia services.

The synergic combination of the CORBA and MA distributed infrastructures has been exploited in MADAMA to obtain:

enhanced accessibility;

QoS adaptation support via dynamic service reconfiguration
